A Biblical History Timeline Offers A Creative Representation To Aid And Help Teach Biblical Events And Truths

In our weekly Bible class years ago, somebody, who had been a Christian and laboured in the local Church for many years, made this statement,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they weren't talking about the pre-Moses law) I wonder just how many Christians will really notice the error in this assertion. Moses came about 500 years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since made up a Biblical timeline and explained in a more graphic way the time period of people and events.

Why do we dwell on our favorite themes and feel good messages?
We instruct on a text from Hebrews and a narrative about John and a topic from the book of Psalms and then the faith of Joshua or the perseverance of Noah - pieces from here and everyplace, but we do not put it all together in a visible understandable, simple to remember, perspective with a good Bible TimeLine and Church History as well. Constantly we're bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a few of them dangerously edging toward Progressive thinking, but if we were to be taught the basic principles of Church history, we then would not be so doomed to repeat it.
Let's us as instructors and preachers sew together the fragments of God's Word and God's plan into a complete picture that our people are able to draw on for the rest of life, helping them to understand God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and how to better interpret the Bible to order our lives by.
It is not hard to do, and it's not boring if we're ready to put in a bit of study with prayer and fervor, and just possibly you can make use of a Bible Timeline as well.
